CMAA Application Process

The Club Management Association of America and the Metropolitan Chapter would like to invite you to join our dynamic organization. Should you choose to become a member, you will join club managers from the Metropolitan area whom, like yourself, recognize the importance of increasing their professional skills, hospitality education and expertise in this diverse field.  Membership is open to individuals who are in a management position at a membership based club. The Metropolitan Chapter covers Long Island (Suffolk and Nassau Counties), Westchester, Putnam and the eastern part of NY State including the Hudson Valley and Albany through Plattsburgh, NY.

Membership is dual and simultaneous which means you maintain membership with the National Chapter as well as your local Chapter. First year members pay dues to both organizations in one transaction.

New members join CMAA and their local chapter online here. Follow the steps to create a username, password and make payment. You will make one payment of $1,175 ($525 to CMAA for national dues and $650 to Met for local dues) and will become a member for the 2026 membership year which runs from September 1, 2025 to August 31, 2026.

CMAA has what they call a "step membership" where the new member rate the first year is $525 ($250 if you join between April 1 and August 31), the second-year dues rate will be $675, and the third year will be the prevailing dues rate. Met Chapter members pay first year dues through CMAA and then are billed second year dues at the prevailing rate through the Chapter's dues billing system.

Please note: As of April 1, we have reached the halfway point of the membership year. Any member joining between now and August will pay half-year dues and receive membership for the second half of 2026. They will then be billed for 2027 dues by CMAA in August and by MCMA in September, meaning dues will be billed again in approximately six months. If you prefer to wait until the 2027 membership year, please email [email protected] to be added to a list to receive information on joining starting September 1.

Please contact Managing Director, Heather Apgar at [email protected] with any additional membership questions. All new members are given one-on-one orientations to learn more how to best navigate their membership.

Members transferring from another CMAA Chapter:

When you change clubs, if your move places you within a different chapter's boundaries, it is imperative that you transfer into that respective chapter. CMAA's Bylaws stipulate a dual and simultaneous membership requirement with the local (geographically determined) Chapters and National, making this action mandatory.

To transfer to the Met Chapter simply fill out this form and someone will be in touch to confirm the transfer is complete.
